Transitional markers are words and phrases used for smoother flow of sentences and greater coherence. Transitional markers provide a connection between ideas, sentences and paragraphs.

 They include; transitional marker of sequence, emphasis, contrast, comparison, illustration, conclusion, consequence, space and concession.

   Transitional Markers of Sequence.

   These words or phrases link the ideas, paragraphs and sentences in a write up. They show or mark how an idea, a sentence or a paragraph flows into the next.
